New card holders will also get an additional $250 back once they charge $1,000 to the card within the first three months. That brings the total cash back bonus to a very respectable $450.

Aside from the remunerative sign-up offer, the card also has other assets as well. It features quite a generous cash back rate on items most of us buy frequently. You’ll get 3 percent back on eligible purchases up to $6,000 at U.S. supermarkets (after $6,000 the rate goes to 1 percent cash back). Buying gasoline and making purchases at select department stores like Dillard’s, J.C. Penney, Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue will net you 2 percent. You’ll also get 1 percent cash back on all other eligible purchases. What makes these cash back categories even more attractive is that they remain stable, so you don’t have to worry about keeping up with constantly changing bonus groups.

To sweeten the deal even further, Blue Cash Everyday is offering an attractive intro APR of 0% for all purchases and balance transfers for the first year (though there is a 3 percent charge for balance transfers). Afterwards, the APR will be a variable rate of 13.24% to 23.24%, based on your creditworthiness.

Other features include travel insurance, extended warranty, purchase protection and car rental loss and damage insurance.

The Blue Cash Everyday is a solid option if you’re looking for a cash back card with no annual fee and you plan to book lots of travel-related expenses in the next six months. While it’s worth noting that the card has a foreign transaction rate on the high side at 2.7 percent, the generous bonus and solid cash back rate on common purchases like groceries and gas help offset this potential drawback.
