You can stretch this new card even further with a $100 statement credit after you make a Delta purchase on your new card within the first three months.
This offer ends on November 9, 0216 – so don’t delay!
More benefits from the card: get your first bag checked free and save up to $50 on round-trip Delta flights, receive Priority Boarding on Delta flights, and enjoy a 20 percent discount on eligible in-flight purchases in the form of a statement credit. Upon renewal of your card, you’ll also receive a companion airfare that is valid on domestic flights (excluding Alaska and Hawaii) in economy — all you pay is taxes and fees for your companion.
When spending on this card you’ll earn 2 Delta miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta and 1 Delta mile per dollar spent on all other purchases. This card does not charge foreign transaction fees, so it is safe to use abroad! The annual fee is $195, and it is not waived the first year.

You can also earn a $50 statement credit after making a Delta purchase with your new card within the first three months.
Again, this offer ends on November 9, 2016, so you get your applications in soon if you want to earn some bonus SkyMiles!
Like with the Platinum Card, you’ll have access to Priority Boarding, your first bag checked for free, and 20% off eligible in-flight purchases … but no companion airfare!
The Gold Delta Business card also doesn’t charge foreign transaction fees and will earn 2 Delta miles per dollar spent on purchases made directly with Delta and 1 Delta mile per dollar spent on all other purchases.
The annual fee is waived for the first year and is $95 per year thereafter.
My Thoughts
Both of these offers are better than the standard public offers. Personally, I get mail offers for 50,000 or 60,000 Delta miles for the (personal) Gold Delta card quite frequently, but I haven’t seen an offer as good as 70,000 Delta miles for the Platinum card.
If you think you’ll be able to make use of the companion airfare, I think the Platinum card makes sense to get and keep. If you’re looking to just add a few Delta miles to your account, the Gold card with the first year waived annual fee might be a better bet.
