For the first time ever, instead of earning points for the signup bonus, you can now earn two free nights at participating SPG Category 1-5 hotels and resorts worldwide after you use your new card and make $5,000 in purchases within the first three months.
Typically, the best offer available on this credit card is 30,000 SPG points, though it has reached 35,000 points in the past. The 35,000 point offer is definitely better than two free nights at a Category 1 to Category 5 hotel, but if you plan to use your two free night certificates at a Category 5 hotel, this offer is as good as the 30,000 point offer. Category 5 hotels go for between 12,000 and 16,000 points per night, so depending on which hotel you have your eye on and during which part of the year you want to travel, one offer might be slightly superior to the other. If you generally stay at lower category hotels, you should definitely hold out for a 30,000 SPG bonus point offer.
This offer is only valid until October 19, 2016 – so don’t wait if you want to use your free night certificates at a Category 5 hotel!
With this credit card, you’ll earn 1 SPG per dollar spent on all purchases, and you’ll also get a 5,000-mile bonus when transferring increments of 20,000 SPG points to airline miles. If you always use your points this way, it is equivalent to 1.25 airline miles of your choice back for every dollar that you spend, making the SPG Business Credit Card a great card for everyday spending.
